Exploring Different Types of Hemorrhoid Treatment

Hemorrhoid treatment
Hemorrhoid treatment can come in many forms. There are over-the-counter creams that can be used to ease the inflammation, and there are also medicines that can be taken orally to produce the same effect.

There's pain medication, and then there's the Sitz bath, which is when you sit in the air about a few inches above warm water for around 15-20 minutes daily. The Sitz bath is helpful in reducing the inflammation, which is the primary cause of pain. All of these provide temporary relief, but one of the major steps one can take to fight this condition is to make changes in one's diet.

Straining when passing hard stool can worsen hemorrhoids, that's why shifting to a high-fiber diet is a very good solution for this condition. Dietary fiber, which can be found in many fruits and vegetables, promotes natural bowel movement, and maintains a normal stool consistency, making hemorrhoids less painful and easier to manage.

Los Angeles Colon Cancer - Understanding the Basics

Los Angeles colon cancer
Los Angeles colon cancer affects the colon, rectum and, sometimes, the appendix. Of all the different forms of cancer today, this one is the third most common, and the second leading cause of death by cancer.

In the early stages of all types of colon cancer, polyps or cylindrical protrusions can be found in the colon and rectum. It is, however, almost impossible to observe initial symptoms of the condition, which can include tiny spots of blood in the stool or anemia. Usually, it is not until tumors have increased a lot in size that the more significant symptoms are felt, such as obstruction of the bowels or unexplained bowel movements. There are instances where the tumors have grown so large that they can actually be felt through the abdomen. In women, the tumors can affect the vagina and cause unusual discharges.

In advanced stages, the cancer starts to affect neighboring organs such as the liver, which then causes jaundice, or a yellow coloring of eyes and skin, as well as enlargement and pain in the abdominal area.

Managing Los Angeles Hemorrhoid Issues

Los Angeles hemorrhoid
Managing Los Angeles hemorrhoid can be as simple as changing from a low-fiber to a high-fiber diet. As most hemorrhoid sufferers may know, hard stools contribute to the development of the condition and the severity of symptoms. Some people use chemical laxatives, but this tends to bring about a rebound effect where stool gets even more difficult to pass. The other issue with external hemorrhoids, or those that protrude out of the anus is the pain that comes with them.

When the hemorrhoids are internal, they are not at all painful. But during bowel movement, some hemorrhoids can stick out, become tender and hurt. There is, thus, a need for measures to address the pain. However, self-medicating can be dangerous because some drugs can have adverse effects with certain medical conditions such as hypertension. Whether internal or external, hemorrhoids should thus be managed only with the supervision of a doctor.

Los Angeles Colon Cancer - a Basic Explanation

Los Angeles colon cancer
Los Angeles colon cancer is a condition characterized by cancerous tumors found on the colon and rectum and possibly on the appendix.

As there are many other types of cancer that can afflict people, colon cancer ranks third as most common and second to lung cancer as a leading cause of death among all cancers. In fact, in the US alone, every person has a close to 10% chance of developing colon cancer.

In all cases, the disease begins with polyps or fleshy, tube-like growths in the colon and rectum. The early symptoms are, however, barely noticeable, and may include anything from unexplained weight loss to persistent general body malaise.

The more obvious signs, such as unpredictable bowel movement, may not be observed until after the tumors have grown big. In some cases, the tumors can be felt by palpating the stomach, and can even affect the bladder, causing blood in the urine. When the disease progresses to an advanced stage, the cancer begins to spread to the liver, causing enlargement and pain in the abdominal area, as well as jaundice.
